This car originally had a 1756cc engine, which was destroyed by the previous owner. It now has a rebuilt 1995cc ("2 liter") engine block, and dual Weber carburetors with Serra air cleaners. The distributor is technically facing "the wrong way" because the bigger engine is taller than the original, and if the distrib faced the right way, it would bump into the hood. Since the car is over 25 years old, it doesn't need emissions inspections, so the performance-robbing plumbing is GONE!
Here's what's under the hood. I replaced the disgusting headers (in photo below) with metallic-ceramic coated headers from PaceSetter, installed custom-length 8.5mm spark plug wires from Magnecor, replaced that stupid spliced wire between the cam covers, cleaned things up a bit, and put in nice new under-hood insulating blankets from Import Restoration & Parts. The discolored brake fluid reservoir was also replaced, with a new one from Bayless.
Here's what was under the hood, before I did anything but add some loud Italian FIAMM air horns.

The right-side of the engine bay is now home to a Crane Cams Fireball XR3000 high performance electronic ignition, along with a new Bosch coil, both from International Auto Parts.

The car was equipped with a rusty Ansa exhaust system. Now it has a  stainless steel exhaust and European "high performance" pipe segment from Fun Imported Auto & Toys.

Here's the driver's side of the engine, after I put in the new horns.

This is what the stock engine looks like, with big air cleaner and lots of emissions control plumbing. YUCK!
